I have a Belgium shepherd dog that has developed a lump on his face just under his left eye so much so that it has just about closed the eye completely. can you tell me more or less what this is and what to do about it

This could be a number of things. Has the lump grown rapidly? is it painful to the touch?
My top considerations would be an allergic reaction to an insect bite or possibly an abscess.
I would consider a trip to the vets in this situation
