Size and growth of newts

I have had these 3 newts for a few years now but they dont seem to be growing? others i have seen are around 4 inches in length, where as these little guys are still only about 2 inches long?

    Hi Sarah Since you have had them for a few years without growing they are probably the size they are supposed to be. The fire-bellied newts are normally 2.2 to 4 inches in size. As long as they are eating normally I would not worry about their size. Torunn Beurling DrMedVet

    i feed them blocks of frozen blood worm every week. is this often enough?

    They should be fed every 4-6 days, and it might be worth give a variety of food as well. There is a commercial salamander diet on the market which could be supplemented to the worms so that you make sure they get the right nutrients. they might know at your local pet shop. It is also helpful to buy some calcium supplements to sprinkle on the worms so that you make sure they get enough calcium. Hope this helps. Torunn
