Torunn says:
Hi there What does the diarrhoea look like? Is it very runny, ie watery or is it just loose stools? Rabbits are coprophagic which means that they have two types of stools, one dry and one wet. The dry stools are little round pellets and the wet ones are darker in colour and a little bit larger and softer than the dry ones. They often eat the wet stools to utilise the nutrients to the maximum by sending the food through the digestive system twice. If on the other hand this is really diarrhoea, ie wet, runny and possibly with blood in it, Curtis might have a gastrointestinal infection and should be taken to the vet as he might require antibiotics or probiotics. You also mention that he has got incontinence. What are the exact symptoms of this? Torunn

says:
The diarrhea is wet and runny and when it is dries on the carpet when we are gone it appears to be bloody. He has always been good about pooping in his cage, but now it seems like he can't control it and poops and urinates everywhere. His diet has always consisted of fresh water and rabbit formula pellets and a handful of timothy hay and a small portion of alfalfa daily.

It seems like you do the right things regarding to feeding, make sure that he gets fresh hay every day. It is not uncommon for rabbits to poop and urinate everywhere, but I agree, when he has not done that before than something is up. I am also worried about the bloody diarrhoea, and you should bring him to the vet for some antibiotics which will probably fix the problem. Hope this helps. Torunn Beurling
