yellow eyes and gums

My dog is 7yrs old and for the past week he's been eating very little each and every day, now his gums are and eyes are yellow what could this be?

    Yellow mucus membranes (eyes, gums, tongue, skin of the genital area) can be a sure sign of liver/kidney insufficiency- those organs aren't working as they should and toxins that are excreted by them are not being filtered out normally. I would HIGHLY recommend you have him examined by your vet as soon as possible. Bloodwork will help in establishing a diagnosis of liver/kidney problems if there are any.
