Fleas?

Rating: 8

I have been bitten several times over the past week, mostly at night however also at work during day. I suspect fleas, never had this problem. Dogs sleep close to bed on floor, scratching all the time, thought allergies. Procedure to clear house? Vacuum, shampoo dogs, wash bedding, spray house & pets. How often must this be done to rid? Help!

    Hello!

It's certainly sounds like fleas. Throughly vacuum the house and bedding etc and wash all covers on the bed, dogs bedding etc. I would advise a good quality house hold flea spray from your vets. The one's sold in the supermarkets/pet stores are less potent if you are being bitten! Spray all over the house,  well ventilate the rooms - remove birds, fish etc before spraying. Maybe spray downstairs at night and upstirs during the day to reduce inhaltion yourself.

Then - it is a MUST to get on top of the adult fleas by purchasing a flea product from your vets. Again, these are going to be better qiality and stronger as are under vet license. Most products require regular once monthly applications so do keep this up, summer and winter.
