Please can you give me advice on a constipation cure.

    my dog is constipated - there has been some changes in the household lately. Which I believe that this is probably the reason for this. He goes outside to potty and it must be real runny, it is all over his bottom. Is there something that I can do to help my puppy? Since there is no vets open today. Thank you

    Well, what you are telling me is that your dog is constipated yet it has runny stool as well...I think what you are seeing is that your dog is straining a lot yet has diarrhea is that right? If so, it sounds like he has colitis, a common condition which may be brought on by stress - I would try feeding him only boiled white rice and white meat chicken (with no skin on!) for the rest of the day, and if he is not improved by tomorrow, I would call your vet - they may want to rule out parasites, so you may like to collect a sample to bring in if you need to go to the office. If there are no parasites, your vet may prescribe an antibiotic which would help your dog greatly. Hope this helps!
