A small laceration can be cleaned with dilute salt water and left to heal naturally. If it's longer than a couple of cm, or deep and exposing underlying tissue, it should be investigated. Discharge from the eye is usually a mild irritation or infection, and if so should clear up on its own. If it's persistent, bloody or the eye is closed, cloudy, red or painful you should see a vet with him straight away. Hope this helps.
