My dog has greenish eye gunk emerging from his eye after he wakes up from a nap. Should we be worried could he have something in his eye or an infection?

    Hi there.

Is this apparent in only one eye or both? Having some discharge in the corner of the eyes after sleep can be normal. If this is only in one eye, and the eye seems to be irritated (eg half-closed, red or discharging also when awake), there could be something in the eye, or he could have conjunctivitis. For now you could wipe it off with some salt water on cotton wool, but if it persists or get worse, veterinary care may be necessary.
