Walking problems for a week

I have a 8y/o Pekingnese and for the past week she has been having difficulty walking with her back legs. At first I just though she tweaked her back from jumping on and off the couch. Now she is better at times and then not good at other times (weird). Other symptoms are not eating, when she does walk back legs just going out from under her, hair falling out, after going outside or somtimes when petting her she just shakes/shivers bad. Any ideas on helping her?

I am sorry for the late response to your question. If your dog is having difficulty in walking and shaking/ shivering then this could be an ear problem. The ears serves as the center of equilibrium and if something is wrong with a dog's ear it will affect her walking. All dogs are prone to ear infection due to factors like allergies, moisture or hormone abnormality. The yeast and bacteria causes this infections. Some dogs are more prone to ear problems such as Cocker Spaniels who have heavy, floppy ears. Bacteria live in a warm dark moist ear canal. Check your dog's ears for increased of earwax or ear discharge. Also check for infection or injuries. It is recommended to take your dog to the vet for the right diagnosis, treatment and medication. Take care and good luck.
