Another Opinion

My cat has been diagnosed with (benign paroxysmal vertigo) by exclusion by the Neurologist. She was first thoroughly examined and treated by our vet (for any inner ear infection), and then examined by a Neuroligist. His findings stated above, with no specific cause found. When she has a relapse, we put her on 12.5 mg of Meclizine per day and this works fine to minimize the head tilt (somewhat), and relieve the dizziness& incoordination.

She did have a fall a few years back when the first episode was noted. However both the vet and Neuroligist says that had nothing to do with this situation.

My question (for a different opinion)...Is there anything else we can be doing to help prevent re-occurances, since these occur without warning? And, Is this the best treatment for such conditions?

Any information given will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

As I am not a vet or not have too much experience with that specific issue I'm sure and it appears you are doing a great job of treating the symptoms and I'm positive that both your vet and the neurologist are stearing you in the right direction. Keep a very keen eye on how she is doing and report it to them as soon as possible if she has any issues. I hope I helped and thank you for your question.
