I brought my dog to the vet to have her teeth cleaned for the first time. She is a seven year old beagle mix. When they took the preliminary blood panel, they found she had a white blood cell count of 86,000. They also took Xrays that look normal. The vet suspects either lymphoma or leukemia, but further tests are needed to confirm which, if either, it is. Is there anything else it could be besides one of these two awful diseases? My vet keeps pointing toward these two cancers.

High WBC is often due to infection and not necessarily those 2 deadly cancers, but it does matter which type of WBC is high.
