Dog can't poop

Rating: 10

We have a cockapoo and he has not eaten since this morning. We took him outside and he continues to try to poop. Nothing is coming out. Even when we take him inside he is in the position to poop. Even when he walks he wlks like he has to poop. Is he constipated? He looks very uncomfortable and when we tried to put him in his cage he doesn't sit, he is is the pooping position. What do we do?

    Hello!

It could well be a severe case of constipation OR it could be that something is obstructing so that he is unable to pass faeces.

This must be very uncomformatable for the dog. I would advise that you take him to your vet. They will be able to carry out a rectal examination incase it is an obstruction that is at the end of the rectum. An X-ray may be necessary if they suspect an obstruction. You should NOT leave him like this as it could be something that needs urgently dealing with.

    Good luck!
