The vulva does get in larged and swells when they are in heat. The area will feel warm aswell which signals her acception of a male to breed but there usually isn't anything that protrudes. See your vet if your are concerned that something is going on abnormal. Are you planning to breed her? If not it is best to have her spayed to reduce any chance of cancer later on in life.
