what would cause this

I had a kitten born 2/29/08 she was the runt of the litter she didn't seem to grow very much she still fit in the palm of my hand and she was almost 3 months old she would get a runny nose and her eyes would shut but they would open back up Saturday night she was running all over the place Sunday morning she seemed all right I left for a couple of hours and when I came home she was lifeless and a few hours later she died. I was just wondering what would cause this

Symptoms: Sneezing, Eyes

    Hi there,

    It must have been upsetting to see her gradually get worse, it sounds like it could have been cat flu if she was not vaccinated. Cat flu causes sneezing and runny eyes usually leading to ulcers.

    It could also have been a number of other things but without a postmortem it would be difficult to say although it does sound like cat flu.
