First and foremost, contact your vet immediately! Dehydration can occur quickly and be fatal, especially to an ill ferret. Peanut might need sub-q fluids (akin to I.V. fluids) that can be done at the vets office, and he can also show you how to give Peanut fluids at home if necessary. Also, Peanut might need to be "force fed", also something that the vet can show you how to do. It's important that your little guy eat as well and keep his stomach cushioned with food to keep from getting an ulcer and also to keep his blood sugar even. When our babies have been ill, we've had sucess with chicken babyfood (just chicken, no veggies in it), the nutritional supplemet FerretVite and also the Duck Soup mix available from pet supply stores. We also have added probiotic supplements (such as acidophilus capsules) to their food and Ferretvite. That helps to get the good bacteria growing in the digestive track to fight the H-Pylori and also start the healing of damaged tissue. (Note - be sure that you go with the straight probiotics, such as Benebac for small animals or capsules for humans. Don't give anything with garlic, onions, etc in it, as some cat/dog formulas have that as an ingredient. That would be harmful) Hope this helps. but please, contact your vet immediately! KT

Also, if Peanut wasn't given any Carafate to protect his stomach, ask your vet about that as well. You definitley don't want a ferret to get stomach ulcers. It can be really bad, and H-Pylori can cause them.
