Can't Won't Eat

My 13 year old cat had surgery last week to have some growths removed from her ears. Her ears are fine now but she has been back to the vet and emergency hospital several times because she isn't eating (she did not have this issue prior to the surgery). She is obviously hungry (she begs for her treats) but she either won't eat or won't keep the food in her mouth. It appears that she is having trouble smelling the food. Could this inability to smell be a result of the surgery, the anesthesia (she had gas, not a tube in her mouth), or Clavamox (she vomited after one dose so we stopped it)? Have you ever seen anything like this? I'm desperate to help my cat and get her eating again. Please help!!! Thank you.

You can heat the food sightly in the microwave to increase the scent of it, cats are more prone to eat if its smells good (to them). Try that and make sure she eats even if its means tricking her with treats left on her food bowl or/and under her normal food.
