Possible Brain Tumor

Rating: 8

I'm writing for some advice about my parents dog. He is five years old and up until about a month ago was a wonderful, loving, well trained yellow labrador. About six weeks ago his behavior started to change. He became lethargic, ravenous (he was never a big eater), would pace in circles around the house, and no longer enjoyed playing his all time favorite game of fetch. In the past two weeks, his behavior has gotten worse and he has now bitten two people (completely unprevoked) and has been having accidents in the house. He has not to my knowledge had any seizures but I suspect (after doing some research on the web) that he might have a brain tumor. My parents are distraught and feel like they have to put him down b/c he is so unpredicible and just isn't the same dog he was for the first five years of his life. Any advice or information you can provide about possible causes would be much appreciated.

The possibility of a tumor can not be ruled out at the moment without futher diagnostic procedures like radio graphs that may or may not show a possibile tumor or abnormality along with blood work. If you are in an aera where there is a veterinary CT (computed tomography- which gives a 3 dimensional view of the body) that maybe a route your parents can take once they consult with their vet. Dogs can lose brian cells (for a lack of a better term) as they age aswell. There is a food Hills Science Diet b/d that helps replenish the signs of a aged mind believe it or not. I highly advise that they consult andhave them examine thier vet. I hope I helped, thank you for the question.
