dog vomiting not eating

My min pin was on prednisone for less than a week 10 mg once a day. After a few days into it, he was drinking excessively. Five days ago he drank and then vomitted all the water back, drank some more and the same thing happened. He refused food so I took him to the vet and he diagnosed diabetes and a high white blood count. He is still not eating so they have him on an IV as of yesterday and only threw up once all weekend. Please help. I don't want to lose him. He's my baby.

Prednisone can cause increased drinking and so can diabetes which I can only guess that contributed to the excessive drinking. Diabetes in animal is something that can be controled with insulin if it is to that point. Injections are not that difficult to give, honestly, and you should not bo worried about having to give insulin if its necessary. Your vet I'm sure is doing everything they can to help your baby. I hope I helped, thank you for your question.

Our little labradore puppy has been experiencing similar to that. Although, she has been sleeping most of the day. She seems very weak and has a hard time getting herself up to go to the bathroom. She threw up the water she consumed about 10 minutes ago, which happened yesterday and today, she has been sleeping. What could be wrong with her? She hasn't eaten but maybe a couple of teaspoons of Ground Beef Meat. That's all she would eat. She turns her head away from the puppy chow and even her treats?? She only drinks her water then goes back to sleep.
