Dallas again

In just the last hour she has gotten markedly worse. She is in her bed but not sleeping. her eyes are open and she appears to be in discomfort, but unable to get up. I lifted her chin and tried to look at her gums, and when i let go of her head she just kept it tilted back and made meowing sounds until i pushed her head back down. It was awful to see. I've had cats all my life and i've never seen anything like this.
I forgot to say that she has not had a fever at any time.

I think that you should get her to a vet as soon as possible, if she is in discomfort. You can ask for a vet to come to your house if you are unable to get out. It sounds like she is very unwell if she is unresponsive and unwilling to move. If she has not been eating for afew days she could be quite weak, and also dehydrated which can happen very quickly when they are older. Have you checked her temperature with a thermometer? Hope you can get her sorted soon and please let us know what happens. Selena
