Hi! Since you already clean the wound, did you check the paw webbing for any object that might lodge in the paw? Remove it and clean the wound again with warm water or you can soak his paw in a bath warm water with epsom salt for about 10 minutes so that it will soften the skin and flush the debris away.Used paper towels to dry the wound. Disinfect the wound using betadine, you can pour over the wound or dab it using sterile gauge pads or cotton balls. Do not use hydrogen peroxide because it will damage the tissue. If there's a broken nail trim it back. Apply anti-biotic ointment for the next 2 days to prevent infection.
