milk for dogs?

Rating: 10

Is it ok to feed milk to a dog? I am 60 yrs old and have had many dogs over the years and have always fed them milk with no problems. So is milk ok to feed dogs?

Hi! Studies show that some dogs can tolerate milk in their stomach while others don't. One reason is that cow and goat's milk contain a higher amount of lactose compare to a dog's milk. Usually dogs who can not tolerate milk can have gas and loose stool. But this does not mean milk is bad for dogs. If a dog can tolerate milk it is ok to feed them milk and it is a good source of calcium and protein. I am just a pet technician, and I can only give suggestions or information so it is advisable to seek your veterinarian's advice on this matter. I hope I answer your question.
