Hi! There a lot of debates about docking. Some say it does'nt affect the dog's health  but there are studies that shows docking can cause health problems like hernias and incontinence occuring in the later part of a dog's life.

Please look at the information on this website:- http://anti-dockingalliance.co.uk/page_4.htm Many countries have now banned docking and ear cropping. If you live in one of these countries and buy a docked dog, depending on the law of the country you may be liable to prosecution. Some States in USA have already got legislation banning tail docking (and cropping) progressing through to statute books. Why buy a puppy with an appendage missing? One wouldn't want to buy a puppy from a litter with legs removed, would one?!

I think we are on the same boat regarding this issue. I do understand pet owners who dressed up their dogs. Or those who pay hundred of dollars just to make their pet "look" good. It's their way of loving their pets. But docking and ear cropping to make the dog "look" good... I don't get the logic behind these thing. I don't know..My friend says they can be compare to humans who have their ears, tounge or eyelids pierce. I told him I never heard of anyone who would cut his fingers off just to look good or different?!  But I do respect whatever their reasons might be...Just as long as they respect my point of view on the issue.
