What can you give a dog for constipation?

Hello there. If it's just simple constipation, you can try a product containing psyllium husk. Metamucil, about 1/2 teaspoon in her food every night or Vetasyl, available here, as instructed on the bottle. Please also have a look at her diet- she should be on a balanced, good quality dog food and plenty of water adn she certainly shouldn't be given any table scraps or bones. You can add a small amount of plain (sugar-free) all bran into her diet and this may help boost the fibre content. Try this for a few days and if she is still not passing normal faeces or if she continues to strain, please take her to see a vet as there may be something else going on. Also, if there is any blood in her faeces, this is a concern and she should be examined soon. Thanks for your question and hope this helps.
