I have an 11 year old lab with cushings who is currently being treated with lysodren. WHo also loves to eat. Yesterday, she was acting very strange and refused to eat. ( Very unusual for her. I watched her closely and noticed she had very watery diarrha. I left for two hours and came home to four piles of puke of which looked like food. I figured a belly ache. BUt last night I woke up to the awful smell of poop, only to find a pile of liquid diarraha with blood in it. And again this morning she ate only a few bites. I did get her to eat some bread and she did drink lots of water. I dont know if its a belly ache or if it is something more serious. She is acting very strange. I dont have a lot of money and I just did her acth blood work and it was fine. Most of the emerengy vets are hundred of dollars of which I dont have.

    Hi there

Has she been wormed? This is the first thing to rule out, although it does sound like she could have something more serious going on, like colitis or gastroenteritis. If the diarrhoea with blood in it continues, it is very important to get her to the vet as soon as you can. Meanwhile, make sure that she is drinking plenty of water. As long as she is fine in herself, it should be safe to wait until tomorrow for a check-over and treatment.

    Good luck!
