Pom urinates when excited

My male pomeranian 10 month old puppy is well trained. But everytime I come home he is so excited to see me he loses it and urinates. If I reprimand him, of course he urinates some more. Poor dog. Any ideas on how to stop this? (He got neutered 3 weeks ago, but this happened before and after the operation). Thanks, Charlie Okinawa, Japan

    Urination due to excitement can pose a problem, which could be due to a urinary tract infection. Has he been seen or had his urine tested to rule that possibility out? I'd suggest you get him in or ask if you can drop off a urine sample off at his vet to have it tested.

    He hasn't been seen but next time he's in for shots I'll have that looked into. This seems more like a submissive reaction. Is that possible? Thanks,
