Hi! How long has this been going on for? Is she still eating normally? Is she still perky and bright in herself? Is she only doing this in the night? Increased thirst and urination are symptoms of several serious disorders, and if she does not get better you should take her to the vet for a check up. It would be a good idea to bring a urine sample. If you answer my initial questions I might get a better idea what is wrong with her.

She Is Still Very Perky And Plays All the Time. Had Her Urine Tested And Came Back Normal. No Pancreitis. She Has A Habit Licking Everything . Couch, her bed ,the rug.me .herself. Then After She Licks She Runs To Get A Drink. Then Back To Licking Again. She Used To Bring Up A White Foamy Saliva With hair In It Like A Hair Ball . But Now She Just Trys To Cough Up Something But Nothing Comes Out. Can't Seem To Break Her From Licking Everything in Sight. We have Her on The Athuritis Tablet for Her Back Hips. She Has Lost her Hearing This Past Year. She Is 15 years old. Her Breath Is Strong all the time but vet says her teeht are in good shape. Don't Know what else to saY > Maybe yoU can DECIDE WHAT we can do.

Bad breath could be caused by uremia, which is a sign of kidney failure. Has she had bloods done? The licking seems to be more of a behaviour problem, which can be difficult to sort out in such an old dog. she could have dementia, ie something is not right in her brain. I am afraid there is not much you can do to stop this behaviour, other than to try and distract her whenever she is licking, and do not give her too much attention whilst on her worst behaviour. But as I said, this might be very difficult to change in her age. I she has not had a blood sample done to test her kidneys, I think it is worth doing. Torunn Beurling, DrMedVet
