PLease help my puppy!

Rating: 9

My 2 year old shih tzu has developed a white muscas-like "string" comming from her left eye. It appears to be stuck to the eye ball, and I was scared to pull on it just in case. The vet told me to apply a very diluted salt-water solution to the eye, but is there anything else that I could do to help heal her? Do you have any idea what could be the problem?

Symptoms: Wounds, Eyes

Jst washing with plain water should be enough to remove the mucus. It does tend to stick to the eye and get a bit dry in breeds like the shih tzu. You don't need to do anything else unless it persists for a long time- the problem is probably mild conjunctivitis- inflammation of the lining of the eyelids. If it doesn't clear up you might need to take Tia to the clinic for some eye ointment
