My gueina pig looks horrible! His eye looks infected and its runny and crusty as well as is his nose, he's not eating or drinking, he's been sneezing and breathing funny, and hes weak. He's also tremmbling and hasnt used the "bathroom" either. He's been like this for like 3days and it started with what looked like an eye infection but it worsend into well what it is now. Do you think whatever he has is curable? I feel really bad but i dont want to pay a vet to tell me that he doesn't have mcuh longer to live. I dont know his age either he was given to me about 8months ago. Think you can help?

Based on what you are describing and that he's been visibly sick for three days already, I'd say it is probably too late to save him at this point. When you start to see symptoms, it is important to treat the animal right away because if it progresses it is much harder to cure. If you wait for a day or two it is often too late. Guinea pigs need food going through their systems all the time and when they stop eating it is a really bad sign. Often they will stop drinking/ eating when they get a stuffy nose. I hope your little guy pulls out of it though. If he doesn't and you decide to get another guinea pig, make sure you disinfect the cage, water bottle and feed dishes etc so the next one doesn't get sick. Also, making sure the animal has extra vitamin C and good quality feed helps, along with keeping him from drafts. I'm sorry to not be more positive and I really hope he does make it. Hugs.
