Rating: 8

last night I clipped my dog's toenail too short and put sugar on it to get the beeding to slow down. Wrapped it in gauze and taped it. This morning after she went outside and it looks like it is soaking through bandage. Any suggestions to keep it from bleeding?

You could use a shaving stick (adrenaline stick) this will help to stem the bleeding. These are available in chemists. Potassium permanganate sticks also will stop the bleeding but are usually only in veterinary practice.

Keep the bandage on the foot to prevent any infection and to also help stem the bleeding.

It will stop eventually, but if it contiunes after tonight then i would pop her in to the vets.
