Intestinal parasites are attained in various ways such as eating an infected flea or eating the feces of another dog, through the pads of the paws or feet and can even by passed on from mother to child. Human's can even get the same "worms" the same way. And each carry the possibility of further health issues. My advice is to have your vet run a fecal analysis to see exactly what all your pets have and get the proper dewormer. The ova or egg of the parasite are shed more so than the physical "worm" and the eggs can only be seen under a microscope. I hope this helps. Thank you for the question.
