Dog constipated?

Rating: 8
Buddy

Buddy was fine yesterday and today, not so good. I thought maybe his anal glands had been bothering him so expressed them and yes, they were bad, but he doesn't want to walk, cries in pain when he gets up on his back legs, then can walk but slowly. Could the anal glands have been infected or could this be something else, perhaps a kidney infection, or constipation? Legs seem ok, no swelling. Won't eat or drink and I haven't seen him urinate or poop today.

He could very well be constipated. The possibility of infection in his anal glands would be validated basically if you saw that the contents were abnormal- thickened, gritty, green, hard, yellow, or even bloody. Which you would have noticed immediately. Did you express them from just the outside like some groomers do or are you able to express them fully from the inside? The fact tha Buddy won't eat or drink and is painful is concerning, perhaps you should get him in to see his vet so that he can be accessed better.  Hope I helped some what.
