Sore Foot/Leg

Rating: 10
Teddy
Teddy

Teddy has been favoring his rear left foot the past few days. It seems to bother him more when he gets up from laying for a while. Some times it appears to be all better as he jumps around and plays, them later he is holding it up for a few minutes till it seems to be ok again?
I usually take my pets to the vet at the first sign of a problem but just had surgery myself and not working so cannot afford it right now. I believe he is about 10 lbs over weight.

    Hi there.

It does sound like this could be a simple sprain, ie an overstretched ligament somewhere in the leg. This might take a while to heal, but should be better without treatment. So assuming there are no swellings or external injuries, it would be quite safe to wait and see in this case.

If the lameness gets worse then he really should be seen by a vet.

    Hope this helps, good luck!
