Dog is having severe reaction after grooming

Rating: 0

My male Bichon puppy of 15 months was completely shaved by a groomer. After this he is not the same, and not even able to go for a walk. He only wants to be curled up in his bed or the coach and will not get up and walk to his food or anywhere else. He is very frightened to be outside and cries when I take him to go poopy. He has lost interest in everything and he was an extremely active and playful dog before this. The vet has taken x-rays and didnt find anything. He also will not stand on all four legs. He will quickly scoot to the coach and sit there with his head down. Can someone please tell me what is possibly going on with him??? THanks

Did you phone the groomer?  Did the groomer mention if there was heat placed on your dog after it was bathed?  What type of shampoo was used etc.  I would also question if there is any neck pain?  Groomers usually use a tie around the neck of a pet it might be that your dog jumped accidently off of the table while being groomed and tried to hang him/herself.  I would wonder especially since you said your dog was a very active puppy.  This makes me picture that there was something that happened at the groomers.  I would ask your Vet to do an exam of the neck and maybe try some anti-inflammatory pain medications.  Your dog is obviously painful or it would not be acting like it is.  Good luck, Andrea
