Have bathed him due to the smell. His diet is greens cabbage, carrot, apple. Dry mix and Hay availble all the time. He shares his Large cage with a rabbit, both are about 1 year old and male. Last week my 4 year old duaghter dropped the G.P from about 30 inches in hieght, he landed on his back awkardly and appear to go into shock for a couple of hours he struggled with his hind legs but seemed to be ok at end of the day and has been all week . please advise

Wow I'm sorry. It is really hard to tell what is going on from your description. It could be anything from broken bones to kidney damage. I assume you were the previous question about the fall and bloody urine etc? Anyway, he sounds like he is pretty badly injured. Guinea pigs are known for hiding their injuries and illnesses and if yours is looking this bad the prognosis isn't good. If you can take him to a vet, that's the best thing to do. If not, try to keep him comfortable and see how it goes. Is he eating and drinking?

One more thing, and I don't want to pile on any guilt here, just a suggestion for the future. When I let children hold animals, I do the same thing that they told us to do in the 'sibling class' my 4 year old son took when I was expecting his brother. The child should sit cross-legged on the floor with a blanket/ towel in their lap. Then the adult places the animal (or baby) in the child's lap on the towel. That way it minimizes any chance of problems or injuries. I don't let children carry animals around, no matter how trustworthy I think they are. Both children and animals are wildly unpredictable, and you just never know how they will react if something unexpected happens. Good luck with your piggie. I hope he's alright.
