can anything be done for a tail injury

    Hi there. It really depends what type of injury. If it is fractured (broken) and bent or if the skin is damaged as well, often the best option is amputation. If it is a fairly stable fracture and he still has full function of his tail then you can sometimes bandage it or leave it to heal over several weeks. If there is no fracture but severe loss of skin, it may heal but will probably take a long time, skin reconstructive surgery may be an option depending on where on the tail a wound is. He may need pain relief and antibiotics, as well as an e-coller to stop him from licking his tail while it heals, so i would advise a vet visit soon. I'm sorry to be so vague and hope this helps!
