Chihuahua suddenly acting like he is in pain

Today my chihuahua suddenly started acting like he is in pain. He is walking hunched over (very prominent arch in in back, and his back legs are very close together.) He appetite is fine, he seems alert, but his pupils are somewhat dialated.

    Hello there. It does sound like your little dog is in pain. These signs could indicate either back pain or abdominal pain.  If it is back pain, one of the possibilities is a slipped disc.  He has full function of his legs at the moment but if it is a disc problem, it will probably progress and start affecting his back legs/bladder function.  I think the sooner you get him to a vet the better- for pain relief as well as to investigate the problem. I wouldn't call it an emergency but I would ahve him examine in the next couple of days. In the meantime, please keep him rested and please do not be tempted to give him any human pain meds.
