You need to make sure the skin stays healthy and doesnt become damaged and start to slough off. This will not happen straight away and it can take days for the skin to die and fall off. I would take him to your vet ASAP for a examination. There may not be anything that you or your vet can do now, however there are things that they can do to help ie. antibiotics, pain relief as this will be very painful for bob (think about when you burn your self with a iron). This is because all the nerves are in the first layer of skin that sense pain. Please in the meantime keep the legs cool with cold flowing water as this will relieve some of the pain, and sometimes 100% aloe vera spray can help. It may be that minimal damage was done and you did the correct thing by cooling the skin and that could be the end and bob has been very lucky. However, these types of injury can be very serious and need checking out. Hope i have helped x
