Misty has a problem with one if her birth canals so we r having to get her a c-section.She is 9 years old and this is her last litter. Would getting her spayed while they r doing the c-section be a bad idea?

Hi there. I think it is definately a good idea to have her spayed. As for timing, some vets like to spay them during the caesarian but some like to do that in a seperate operation about 4 weeks after the caesarian. This is because the blood vessels around the uterus are quite enlarged during pregnancy and are at higher risk of bleeding during surgery. If done carefully, this is usually not a problem but I think there are good arguements for spaying during as well as spaying a few weeks after a caesarian. Hope this helps and good luck!
