Cat peeing on bed

Rating: 10

My 12 yr old cat has peed on my bed twice in three days. She uses a litter box and doesn't ever do this. There is a new dog in the house that may be making her mad but I'm worried it could be diabetes. Is there any way to tell?

There are ways to tell if this is due to disease or behavioral.  I would bring your cat in and have a urinalysis done to check for infection or disease.  If nothing shows up on the test it may just be behavioral because of the new dog.  I woudl put a litter box in your room for the time being or keep your cat out of your room whichever works for you.  Does the cat seem to mind the dog?

Thank you so much. This is very helpful. Her litter box is already in my room but I'll go get her tested. She hasn't shown any feeling toward the dog. They don't interact very much but she doesn't like my other cat or my dog either and they have been around for over a year (the new dog is a roomie's).
