I have a very active Jack Russell. For about a week now he is having difficulty jumping. He is six years old. When I pick him up he winces. He usually can jump over 4 feet.

Okay....More trouble using front or hind legs to jump.
If it is the front it maybe possible he hurt his neck or shoulder
If it is the hind legs it maybe his Back, Hips or Knee
those would be high on my list,Best thing is to make an apt asap for a good exam, x-rays and some blood work..with your Vet. the blood work to check mainly his liver & kidneys so if any problems with any meds the Vet may prescribe.
Let me know how things are going....
Thanks for your Question
Regards, Barry
