Pup problems

Rating: 9

Priscilla had a c-section today. All four of the pups are healthy, but Priscilla isn't wanting anything to do with them. My husband and I are feeding them from the bottle, but we really feel like they need to be getting their mother's milk. Is there any way that we can encourage Priscilla to take interest?

If it's her first litter,it wouldn't surprise me. one thing to do is to watch from a distance let her be. Make sure she has a place away from traffic in the house, warm and with plenty of food & water, nursing puppies can take a toll on the mother in a short time frame. While she is nursing give her Puppy food, it is best for nursing mothers.

Humans usually don't have to do much of anything other than to keep an eye on things in case a puppy is not nursing or something like that.

Let me know how she & the pups are doing.

She is doing well now and is nursing the pups. The first night my husband and I were up until 7:30 in the morning taking care of them. They are all doing great. Priscilla is doing a great job nursing and keeping them clean and everything. The only thing is that she tends to get a little overwhelmed when they are all crying and she looks at us for help. Thanks for your help! I've attached a picture of Priscilla and her pups.
