Limping Leg

Rating: 8

Our 8 year-old cocker spaniel began limping suddenly after being outside. Because we live in a rural area, there are no emergency vets. We have checked her foot/leg. There are no scratches, cuts, etc. and she does not seem to be in any pain when her foot/leg are touched. What could be wrong, and what can be done until she can be taken to the vet on Monday?

    Hello.....

A few things come to mind.

    1) she just over did it and just plain old rest will do.

    2) Sprain

    3) Knee cap is moving in and out of place

    4) Torn cruciate ligament

you may offer one half of a baby aspirin 2 times a day or ½ of a buffered aspirin 2 times a day. Need refill meds?. You may save money here for most meds & supplies.

I hope that answers your question

    Regards,

    Barry

Oh! Sorry I forgot about the possibility of something like a piece of glass, stick, thorn in the foot.
