Hello, This is clearly a behavioral problem and are very common in dogs that are spoilt with affection - i know because my dog was exacally the same. This answer is more about what you should do not training timmy. When visitors arrive put Timmy in a seperate room and only when he is quiet and calm he can come in - - the moment he barks or bites then he goes straight back in to the other room alone! Do not shout at him or say bad dog , bad boy - remain in silence and repeatidly keep placing him in the other room on his own, It took me sometimes 50 times a day but after about a week she finally relised that when she barked or snapped her reward was to be ignored in a room on her own . This will hopefully teach Timmy that for his behaviour he will be ignored by you and everyone which is certainly not what he wants. When he is good and starts to learn not to bark and snap then he will be treated via chicken , sasauge etc.. I used to cook 10 sasauges at the beginning of the week and by the end of the week i no longer needed them anymore. You must not speak to Timmy or show him any affection or even pick him up just walk him to the other room and your determination will pay off Please let me know how you go xx

I must tell you that will be tough very tough - I just love him so much that I never yell at him never, what I usually do is...........pick him up and talk to him - I usually tell him its my son's friend and its ok for that person to be here and sometimes he will look at me for a kiss (which he gets all the time) and he will stop - when I put him down - he will start again but, not all the time. I cannot punish him, I never punish my my two boys (22-17) and they are the best boys in the entire world (I got very lucky) but Tim, well Tim is Tim. But, I do want him to stop that behaviour so I've made up my mind and will gave it a try and will let you know how it goes, thank you very much and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU
