my cat is 14. neutered male. has heart disease and asthma. Has lost weight 13.5 lbs to 10 in 4 months.NO other symptoms.WE have seen LOTS of specialists. Everything continues to check out fine. Only thing left is endoscopy to check for IBD or Lympnomia. SHould cat go under anathesia for this if cancer is likely reason?

Symptoms: Breathing, Weight Loss

Have they checked his thyroid? test called T4 or free T4.

The Dr's I work with have not done sergery if the cancer has spred to the Chest/Lungs. A simple chest xray would show/rule out it spreading to chest.

let me know if you have any other questions....

I see he's on a few meds, check this out maybe you could save some money on those meds

EntirelyPets.com, you'll find all the pet medications and pet supplies your pet needs at discount prices.

    Have a great day

Well then I would have to leave it up to you.

3&1/2 lbs in 4 mos for a cat is huge amount to loose you would want to do something soon or he will be 8lbs before you know it then maybe too week for any type of anathesia

if he's active, eating somewhat okay then I would not see a problem with endoscoping, that's better than an open exploratory.
