diarrhea for 2 months

Rating: 10
Gator
Gator

Gator has had very bad diarrhea for a long time which has caused him to drop half his weight. He nows weighs 27 pounds. He is on panacur and albon. He has been on this medicine for a week. And his stool is starting to get a lil bit better. But i cant seem to get him to gain any weight. Is there something i can add to his food that wouldnt hurt his stomach but would help him gain weight?

    Hi,

Has your vet made a specific diagnosis? This is important to know in order to suggest the best type of food. I would recommend a diet specifically designed for gastro-intestinal problems. Speak to your vet about this because a prescription diet would be the best. Other options apart from specific diets would be to supplement Gator's normal food with simple sources of protein (boiled/grilled chicken) and carbohydrate (rice/pasta) which are both quite gentle on the gut.
