I put two of my female guinea pigs in a run together and they had a fight, Ellie got bitten on the side of her mouth, it bled a little and looked as if it really hurt her, she was in shock for a bit but is still eating. i have anti biotics for guinea pigs already, do i give her that? or does she need to go to the vet for other medication?

    Hi-

Sometimes those sows can be just as nasty to each other as the boars can!

She will probably do just fine and it will probably heal on its own. Keep an eye on it for a few days just to be sure. If it starts to get swollen or turns redder than it is now you might want to take her to the vet, but these things usually just heal up on their own without any treatment. I wouldn't use any antibiotics unless it started to actually get infected.

If sometime you decide to try again, try putting in a lot of hay and several hiding places so they don't have to look at each other and so they can get away if they want. If that doesn't work you may just have to keep them apart.

    Good luck with her!
