cats teeth

Can you please give me tips on how to clean my cats teeth? I've tried cleaning them but she won't have it. also about 4 weeks ago she had 6 teeth out and not she has these black bit under her chin is that normal? Also she keeps scratching although she has no feas? Any info would be grateful recieved.

    the black bit that you can see sounds like it's just pigmentation and normal.  try finding a toothpaste that your cat likes and get her to lick it off your finger to start with.  once she is happy with this wrap a flannel round your finger and start touch ing the the teeth with toothpaste on the end.  take it slowly and you should be able to build up to using a brush.

    Cats can get acne and most commonly this occurs on the chin. Those black spots can be considered chin acne.  Ask your Vet for products which are safe to use on your cat.  Our Vet likes to prescribe Clear-a-Sil but it has to be the lowest percentage one and can't have anything else in it. 

     Cats can be very difficult to brush there teeth.  I recommend a special diet used it as treats it is called Hills T/D.  They make it as a diet you feed but I think it is too rich for most cats so I use it as treats.  My cat is 14 and hasn't needed a dental yet.  I wish you the best of luck.
