Great Question.
That's a hard one to answer, based on many factors & I don't know nearly as much as a DVM.
Many cats can go their whole life as a carrier & not show if any symptoms. Others get it and pass away in a year or so. Their is a vaccine that has been out for a few years that, has shown to help the cats immune system fight it. Even the vaccine is not close to 100% effective, it's certainly better than no protection at all.
