i have been taking my dog to vets and he is getting worse symtoms diarrhea,accute weight loss lethargic and now not eating but drinking lots of water.He seems to feel that he needs to go to the toilet runs round in pain back arched barking at his rear end,been taking metronidizole,prednisolone no improvement waiting on blood tests.

the arched back, sounds like spinal problems, all the other symptoms could be secondary, i suggest you find a better vet.
