My rat has recently developed a mass of some kind on the top of his head. About a week ago it was half the size it is now. He seems to be acting the same as he usually does, with no difference in his eating or drinking habits. What is this mass, and what can I do about it?

I would have a veterinarian look at the mass and take a sample of it with a small needle. That will help to determine cancer vs. an abscess/infection. Can't really tell what it is without getting a piece of it to look at under a microscope. Hope this is helpful. Sorry that your rat has a mass.
